Saudi Arabia and Pakistan Hold 7th Bilateral Defence:
A seventh session of the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Bilateral Defence Industrial Forum held on October 10 at Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Pakistan’s tri-services delegation was headed by Chief of General Staff (CGS), Lieutenant General Muhammad Awais Dastgir on the other hand Saudi side was led by the Assistant Defence Minister for Saudi Arabia, Engineer Talal Bin Abdullah Al Otaibi.
The meeting was composite where Lieutenant General Dastgir assured Pakistan’s continued support for the capacity enhancement of Royal Saudi Defence Forces, as reported by News Degree, quoting the ISPR.
Saudi dignitary lauded Pakistan’s progress and the role of Pakistan in War against terrorism and other areas like peace an stability in region.
Areas of discussion:
Areas of discussion in the forum included global and regional security threats and implication that affect defence forces. Each side underlined the significance of the future progress of the defence industrial cooperation in view of fast moving, technological competition. This meeting detailed the current status of working together with other countries and decided to expand the cooperation to enhance relations between the two countries.
