Rawalpindi Police Is Ready To Action Against Unfit Vehicles
The Rawalpindi Police have stepped up operation against unfit PSVs and as such 1,025 PSVs have been ferried so far.
Owners and drivers of 8,620 vehicles were given challans while over Rs. 9.3 million were recovered in fines during the crackdown launched about 58 days ago on the directions of City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
He pointed out that 706 drivers were penalized for not producing legitimate licenses and licenses of 27 other drivers were withdrawn due to reckless driving.
But only 52 cases were filed against the drivers and the owners of the vehicles, he said.
